Website Conversion rates


Website Conversion rates are determined from how many of your site visitors take the preferred action on your site. Typically, purchasing a product or service.


Keyword (or key word)


A single word (like 'mortgage') which searchers type into a search engine to find products and services.


Keywords tag


The keywords tag is part of the Meta data of a Web page. This tag is no longer used by most Search Engines when determining page rank.


Keyphrase


A two- or more-word phrase (like 'website design Kilkenny') which prospects type into a search engine to find products and services like yours.


Landing page


Landing pages are the first pages on your site which a visitor will see. Typically these pages are developed and optimised for important key terms associated with your business. Visitors may arrive on these pages from Pay-per-click campaigns or from organic searches.


Link exchange


A link exchange is where one website links to another in return for a recipricol or other link. Poor link exchanges can actually harm site positioning.


SERP (Search Engine Results Page)


The SERP is the page that users see after typing their search query into an search engine.


SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)


SEO is the science of making a site and its content highly relevant for both search engines and human searchers for a specific set of key terms.


 

Website Title Tag


The Title tag is an important piece of Meta data used to describe the content of a web page. It is one of the factors used by Google and other search engines to determine the relevance of a website page to a particular search term.

Search engine optimization writing is specialized copywriting that entails weaving keywords and keyphrases into marketing or informational copy. The purpose of search engine optimization copywriting is to gain prime positioning for the desired keyphrases, as well as increase page conversion rates.

A spider is a search engine tool which visits Websites and records their pages.


Pay per Click (PPC) or Cost Per Click


Pay per Click is a type of advertisement used in search marketing where advertisers are charged each time their ad is clicked by a prospect. The cost of each click is determined by the bid amount of the ad owner, the competitiveness of the term, the quality of the advertisers ad, the quality of the website's landing page and the amount being bid by the advertiser's competitors.
